Sami & Alaa co-authored a poster at the recent British Association of Oral Surgery annual conference in Edinburgh.

The poster presented a pilot survey on prescribing habits in Implant Dentistry looking at the prescribing habits and the growing need for guidance and evidence based practice for the use of antibiotics during dental implant treatment.

Sami has been selected for this once in a lifetime opportunity to spend a year at the prestigious ITI centre in Graz, Austria.

The ITI (International Team for Implantology) awards up to 20 scholarships each year to help young clinicians in their training in implant dentistry and related treatments. ITI Scholars spend their scholarship year at one of the ITI Scholarship Centers around the world.

Over the next 12 months Sami will be spending time learning from the best and training in the latest treatments and techniques in Oral Surgery & Dental Implantology.

The mission of the ITI Scholarship is “to promote and disseminate knowledge on all aspects of implant dentistry and related tissue regeneration through research, development and education to the benefit of the patient”.

During his scholarship Sami will gain insight into case planning, implant surgery and prosthetic restorations and will also be actively involved in research and teaching.

Sami is excited to bring back a whole host of new skills & techniques to benefit his patients & colleagues.

​During his scholarship Sami will continue to care for patients in the UK with frequent trips home to ensure continuity for all of his patients, whilst he is away his Specialist Oral surgeon colleague Mr Alaa Aldaadaa will continue to be on hand to assist any patients or offer support to referrers in Sami's absence.]]><![CDATA[Piezo Education]]>Tue, 07 Aug 2018 06:00:00 GMThttps://www.smilekind.co.uk/news/piezo-educationPicture
Today Sami was educating some of the dental directory reps all about the Acteon Piezotome Cube to help them explain the features and benefits of this amazing piece of equipment to their customers.

Sami is a Europeon Key Opinion Leader for the Piezotome Cube and works closely with Aceton as a leader in the world of piezo surgery for extractions.  
Sami frequently uses the cube to facilitate atraumatic extractions, third molar extractions and sinus augmentation procedures. The cube allows for much faster and less traumatic procedures.
