Dental treatment with IV sedation at SmileKind

IV conscious sedation can help make dental treatment feel calmer, easier and far less daunting — whether you're nervous about dentistry or simply want additional reassurance during a surgical or complex procedure.

Nervous about treatment? You're not alone.

Dental anxiety is incredibly common. For some people it's a general nervousness; for others, previous experiences or the thought of surgery can make treatment feel overwhelming.
At SmileKind, we regularly care for patients who feel anxious about dental treatment. IV sedation is one of the ways we can help you feel more comfortable and in control.

You don't need to consider yourself a "nervous patient" to choose sedation.

What is IV conscious sedation?

IV conscious sedation uses medication given through a small cannula, usually placed in your hand or arm. It helps you become deeply relaxed, sleepy and much less aware of what's happening around you.
Unlike a general anaesthetic, you aren't unconscious. You continue to breathe for yourself and can respond to your clinical team when needed.
However, many patients remember very little about their treatment afterwards — so the experience can feel as though you've slept through it.
