Nazia qualified with honours from Bart’s and London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2007. Since then she gained experience working in general practice as an associate dental practitioner and in hospital as a senior house officer. Her senior house officer post included the fields of oral surgery, oral medicine, radiology and restorative dentistry, carried out at Guy’s Hospital.
Completing her specialist training with distinction in 2015 with King’s College, Nazia was awarded the Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics (MClinDent Pros), followed by the award of Membership in Prosthodontics (MPros) through examination by the Royal College of Surgeons. Becoming registered on the GDC specialist list for Prosthodontics in January 2016.
Nazia gained a distinction in her Master’s thesis in the field of implant dentistry, and has presented research at conferences including the EADMFR in Istanbul and EAO in Stockholm and has published in this field.
Nazia recently finished a post working on the specialist hypodontia clinic at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The role of associate specialist in prosthodontics for 2 years. Here she was able to take a multidisciplinary approach to treatment planning and treating complex cases alongside other specialists and consultants in the fields or oral surgery, paediatric dentistry, orthodontics and restorative dentistry.
She also taught undergraduate dental students during her time at the hospital for King’s College, London in her specialist field of fixed prosthodontics.
Nazia extends her teaching to qualified dentists also, taking part in study days with Dental Core Trainees, and holding evenings of seminars, lectures and hands on training with general dental practitioners. Teaching is a role she thoroughly enjoys and feels passionate about.
Nazia has a very thoughtful approach to dentistry, working together with her patients to understand their wishes and concerns, thereby enabling her to deliver the best type and method of treatment for each patient.
